3D Motion Capture Swing Analysis
3D Swing Analysis with K-Motion
Using the K-Motion 3D motion capture system, lightweight sensors are placed on the body to measure how the pelvis, thorax, and upper body move throughout the swing.
This technology allows us to evaluate key elements of swing biomechanics, including:
• Kinematic sequencing – how efficiently the body transfers energy from the ground through the hips, torso, arms, and club • Pelvic rotation patterns – how the lower body initiates and supports the swing • Thoracic rotation – how the upper body rotates relative to the lower body • Angular velocity generation – how quickly different segments of the body rotate during the swing • Pelvic and thoracic bend patterns – flexion, extension, and side bend mechanics that influence posture and spine loading
These metrics are compared to established performance ranges to determine how efficiently the body is producing and transferring energy during the swing.
This analysis helps us identify opportunities to improve speed, sequencing, and overall swing efficiency.
